Potatoes

The favourite side dish of the ship’s cook

There is no EU country that grows as many potatoes as we do in Germany. And there’s a good reason for that. After all, they are simply wonderful: as crispy fried potatoes, velvety mash or a peeled and salted accompaniment to any number of favourite dishes.

We’ve sampled plenty of spuds and found the tastiest tubers in the north right on our doorstep – the Tobaben family have been cultivating the finest potatoes in the Altes Land region for generations. We promise you’ll love them.

Galloway beef

Beef from regional, organically reared Galloway cows

Whether it’s veg, fish or meat: the best quality and respectful, responsible food production are of utmost importance to us. That also includes using all parts of the animal according to the ‘nose-to-tail’ principle. We only use organic beef from certified producers in Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg West Pomerania, with whom we have a close and trustful working relationship.

Every day is market day

Our head chef prefers to get his ingredients from the market and is inspired by the fresh produce the regional farmers offer. Always carefully selected, ideally seasonal, preferably local – we make meals that remind you of the good old days and leave our guests with full bellies and warm hearts. Let’s drink to that!
